Maybe it’s the crazy long hours that we’ve been putting in at work (a little over 40 by the end of the day … Wednesday), or just the fact that I might just still be an east coast country boy at heart, by I like a little spring snow.
Can someone tell me if I still live in Seattle.
by Dartanyon on Monday - 9th of February, 2009
I realize for much of the country, winter weather is a fairly typical. Winter comes in waves of snow and ice, and bitter cold. That being said the pattern here in Seattle is usually something like this … Some small bit of winter in late December, followed by near summer like weather for a couple [...]
Fighting Cancer
by Dartanyon on Thursday - 5th of February, 2009
Today is Yesterday was World Cancer Day, and it seemed like a fitting day to have a “better late then never” launch of my LiveStrong Challenge participation. For those of you not familiar with the LiveStrong Challenge it’s the main event fundraiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s fight against cancer. There is a ride in [...]
Destiny by Design – Engaging Kids
by Dartanyon on Tuesday - 3rd of February, 2009
Morning All! I received this in my work inbox, from the OG Photographer, a link to his latest project. I thought the idea was brilliant and really engaging. Here’s what the “OG” had to say about it … The project focuses on the Destiny by Design/Citizens Schools junior high after school program and merges photo [...]
Happy Groundhog’s Day
by Dartanyon on Monday - 2nd of February, 2009
Following very closely on the heels of the best team in football winning yet another SuperBowl! Is my very favorite of the 2nd tier holidays, Groundhog’s Day! I don’t know if it’s because I spent my formative years in Pennsylvania, or if it’s because we are really celebrating a fat rodent, or maybe it’s because [...]
Happy New Years!
by Dartanyon on Sunday - 25th of January, 2009
Well, Happy Lunar New Years anyway …. It just so happens that the first time that I really had the time to sit down and write some new year’s resolutions coincided with both the week of President Obama’s Inauguration and with Lunar (Chinese) New Year. So welcome to my delayed edition of 2009 New Year’s [...]
LegObama
by Dartanyon on Monday - 19th of January, 2009
Everyone who knows me, knows of my Lego infatuation. From the earliest days I can remember, I’ve loved building, tearing apart, and building again. The places that a box of Legos and my imagination have taken me could fill a life time of trips. To that end I stumbled upon a blog Brick Star that [...]

‘Tis The Season
by Dartanyon on Monday - 8th of December, 2008
Look out defenders of the world, the season of holiday wishes and expectations is upon us. I hope that those that believe that continued consumption of things, will look the other way for this post. I have been asked by a great number of people what we (mostly the boys) wanted for Christmas, so in [...]
